During my time in Second Life this past week, I decided,
since I am physically here, stuck in the library, studying for exams and
papers, I may as well go a on a little virtual vacation. I discovered that
Second Life has many virtual representations of major landmarks around the
world. Some of the few I visited were the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids of Ghiza,
and the Grand Canyon. I must say all were significantly less frequented than I
imagine their real-life counterparts are. I was hoping I might run into some
people and have my first online encounters or chats, but I guess next time I
will have to look for a more popular place!
