It is a sign of the increasing popularity and social acceptance of video games that Disney has seen fit to make a feature-length animated film based entirely on them. I don't really know how to describe how happy the very existence of Wreck-It-Ralph makes me - movies based based on video games are nothing new, but they tend to be mediocre at best. As part of their promotion for the movie, Disney has ordered the construction of arcade cabinets that play the fictional game that the main character is the antagonist of. The cabinets are new, but deliberately retro in, well, basically every part of their construction. Somehow, the fine folks at the DUC Fun Room managed to snag it for a weekend, and though it's most likely gone now, I'm proud to say that I held the high score last time I checked.
