For my social media norm breaching experiment, I chose to do the "oversharer." This was mostly because I'm not using social media this month, so I couldn't do a few of the things on the list. However, I did think about the irony of me not using social media as being a type of norm breaching experiment in itself. Everyone is so connected all the time, especially with smart phones, so it's weird and almost rude when someone doesn't respond rather promptly. This may not be the case for everyone, but for me, I definitely have been feeling antsy about the potential number of things I haven't responded to on social media during my absence.
Anyways, my actual social norm breaching experiment was pretty fun. I chose to overshare with my best friend's boyfriend--me and him are friends, but I rarely ever text him. I usually only talk to him in contexts where my best friend is also around. My friend and I both thought it would be funny, since I would get his reaction via text and she would get his reaction in person when they talked later that day.

His reactions were pretty minimal via text, which I thought was kind of interesting. I think he mostly felt uncomfortable and confused and didn't really know how to respond. When my friend talked to him that day, he mentioned that I was being really weird and didn't know what to do. Mission accomplished!
