"The Creative Apocalypse that Wasn't"

Great article from NY Times about the impact of file sharing combined with social media. Even though services like Napster and BitTorrent led many to believe that the creative sector would face losses, the convenience of shared files and the unprecedented impact of social networks and media are actually increasing the revenue of music, film/television and literature. Turns out that free sharing gets more people to like what they see/hear, and once they like it they'll readily buy the premium edition.
