Kids Hold the Key to the Future

I saw these articles about the Google Science Fair and was blown away by what the kids discovered and worked on. Every year, Google holds a science fair for kids aged 13-18, to give them a space to be creative and innovative in looking for solutions to our world’s problems. This year’s winners focused on a variety of issues from diagnostic tests for Ebola and Alzheimer’s disease to finding new ways to create clean drinking water sources. To think that teenagers can solve some of these issues more affectively than current scientists who have been studying and working on them for years is inspiring. They have the ability to think outside the box and imagine new ways to approach these problems. I appreciate that Google has provided an opportunity for kids to work on these projects and it gives me hope as to what we can accomplish and change in the future. Also, I loved seeing that Google had invited Ahmed Mohamed to attend the event, honoring and supporting him as an inventor.
