




I'm in Denver at the American Anthropological Association's annual meeting, where an increasing number of anthropologists are discussing social media, digital technologies, and virtual worlds.
I saw Tom Boellstorff in action at the conference, presenting a paper on the experiences of people with disabilities in virtual worlds. He did a simultaneous broadcast in text and voice with a co-author on Virtual Ability Island in Second Life. Here are some photos and screenshots from their joint presentation- a very cool experiment in the comingling of the visceral and virtual.
