The area is very detailed with many moving parts and things to look at. Though certainly not an exact replica of a Disney park, it gives the feel of something very similar. There were very few people in Magicland when I visited. I saw no one and could only locate 3 other avatars on the mini map. In many places throughout the area they were asking for donations to keep the park alive.
I couldn't resist the chance to ride a virtual ride so I tested out a horse and carriage, the carousel, the tea cups (which can be made to spin faster by pressing the up arrow on the keyboard), the Casey Jr. train, It's a small world, and Dumbo. They were, in fact, quite nauseating to me but I did manage to catch a few snapshots before bailing.
Many of the rides asked the avatars to click somewhere to preload the audio before getting on the ride. It's a small world had the longest preload time but I was able to walk around and explore while waiting to get on. When the audio is ready you click near the loading dock and a boat appears. Once you sit down, the viewing angle changes so that you can move the mouse for 360 degree views of the surroundings and the ride informs you that it will wait 7 seconds to see if other riders were joining. After this time has passed the boat moves forward and a voice tell riders to "please remain seated" in multiple languages. The ride itself is quite long and fairly accurate from what I can remember. "It's a small world" plays the entire time and at the end you wait for the boat to come to a complete stop before standing up and walking off. The accuracy with which the ride was portrayed in Second Life was amazing to me. It really felt like I was at Disney exploring and riding all of the rides (though without the lines).

LOL! Omg I love it. But did you get the same thrill like you did in person? Like it was nauseating because both you and I think SL is dumb but was it enjoyable at all? Did you feel embodied doing something you have already done in the "physical world" (because apparently "real life" isn't an acceptable term when discussing this literature) LOL
